Look for Busy Birds This
Spring
Springtime is
nesting time for many birds. Early morning choruses grow
louder as birds repeatedly sing songs to attract mates
and defend their territory.
After birds
pair up, they'll build nests, lay eggs and raise their
young. Some birds will go on to repeat this cycle as
many as three times.
To help
birds prepare for the rigors of nesting season, consider
offering high energy foods such as suet, mealworms and
peanuts.
We also carry a variety of packaged materials
that birds can use to build their nests. This not only
makes their lives a little easier, but it also
helps them choose your yard for their new
home.
You can also
encourage birds to raise families in your yard by
providing them with safe and enticing nesting spaces.
Add new nest boxes to your backyard habitat and make
sure any existing boxes are clean and ready for
occupancy.
