Welcome to this month's News from Wild Birds Unlimited!

Let's Talk Squirrels
Our customers love to talk about squirrels. So do we! While most of you enjoy watching the squirrels, some of you would rather not feed them. Here's the scoop on squirrels and feeders.

Squirrel-tolerant feeders: Squirrels can eat from these feeders but won't damage them. If you don't mind feeding squirrels along with the birds, then these feeders will work well.

Squirrel-proof feeders: These feeders are designed to absolutely not allow a squirrel, under any circumstance, to feed from this feeder (as long as they are mounted and hung properly).

Squirrel baffles: Hanging domes or cylindrical pole baffles work well to keep squirrels off non-squirrel-proof feeders.

There is much more to learn about squirrels!

The Eliminator-A True Squirrel-proof Feeder
When a squirrel touches the perch ring, its' weight closes the seed ports and it is foiled from eating the seed. Unique technology allows you to set the sensitivity, so you can even exclude large birds, such as pigeons or doves. The Eliminator can be hung from a tree branch or from our Advanced Pole System®. Holds three quarts of seed. Comes with a limited lifetime guarantee. Enjoy the birds while foiling the squirrels!

Birds aren't the only wild creatures attracted to the seed in your feeders. Squirrels often stop by for a "fill up" too! If squirrels are driving you nuts, you'll want to learn about ways to make your birdfeeding stations squirrel-free.

House Finch - Finchs' diets are the most vegetarian of any North American bird. Unlike most other seed-eating birds, finches do not switch to an insect diet during the summer nesting season. They continue to eat mostly seeds, although they will prey on some insects while they are abundant. Learn more about finches.
