Here's the scoop on squirrels and feeders. Squirrel-tolerant feeders: Squirrels can eat from these feeders but won't damage them. If you don't mind feeding squirrels along with the birds, then these feeders will work well. Squirrel-proof feeders: These feeders are designed to absolutely not allow a squirrel, under any circumstance, to feed from this feeder (as long as they are mounted and hung properly).
